Philipp Tolziner was one of the seven Bauhaus
students that followed their director into his voluntary exile to Moscow. While
Meyer and student Bela Scheffler, who spoke fluently Russian, were in Moscow
to arrange the travelling visa, Tolziner and his friends waited in Meyer's empty
house in Berlin. A soviet journalist finally helped them to find their way and
in February 1931 they arrived in Moscow.
