The quarter is orderly and quiet: all blocks are placed in the same direction and they all look alike. There are no balconies or other frivolous details. You could call it boring, but also: an oasis of silence and simplicity in a busy industrial city.

When you start walking through the neighbouring quarters, the street plan stays exactly the same, as does the direction of the buildings, but the architecture changes. There is more decoration and grandeur, especially on the corners of the neighbourhood. These must be the quarters built between 1934 and 1937, the year the street plan of May was abolished.
